Birthday Parties

Yesterday was my favorite teacher in the entire world's birthday. She is one of those teachers who makes you want to be a better person, and will always be there encouraging you and pushing you to do your best. She had mentioned to me and my roommate that her birthday was coming up, but she flatly refused to tell us when it was. So we took matters into our own hands. We went upstairs to the secretary and asked her. Then, our party planning began. Secretly, of course :) We sent a sign-up sheet around class, and asked people to sign up to bring stuff. Needless to say, it was a hit. Our teacher was already planning on bringing us cake as an end of the semester treat, but she didn't know about everything else we had planned! We had cookies and cake, and fruit, and vegetables, and chips, it was great. Our teacher stood up and told us that her husband, son, and grandson were all at scout camp right now, and her mom wasn't able to remember her birthday, so if we hadn't done what we did, she wouldn't have gotten to celebrate at all. She started getting choked up as she was telling us this, and it was just the sweetest experience ever. I'm so glad that we could give back to an amazing lady who has given me, personally, so much. Whenever I am in one of her classes, I remember exactly why I want to be a teacher.

Holidays

I love holidays! Especially when I get out of school for them! Although it is kind of a bummer when said holiday is scheduled on a Wednesday... Because all but one class of mine is cancelled tomorrow, and that happens to be my 8 am class. But anyways, I am at my grandparent's today, waiting for my friends to get in from Georgia and pick me up so I can chill with them today! I'm pretty sure I eat way better at my grandma's house than I do any given day at school. Because yesterday, I only ate breakfast, until I got to my grandparent's around 6 and had a sandwich for dinner. Yup, my eating habits are real great. But you know what is really lame? I have to take 2 tests tomorrow :( So when I get done with class, I'll probably go to the testing center. Not really what I want to do, but I'm almost done, so I guess it is worth it :) But that's my thought for the day. I hope you have a great 4th :)
